. With a growing demand for lasting autonomy off grid, alternator charging, large battery banks and more advanced monitoring systems are becoming more of a necessity. Nations has partnered with Just Roaming Design to bring comprehensive kits to the retail market. We supply all of the major components, including overcurrent protection with the ability to add accessories for monitoring and advanced functionality. These kits strive to provide easy solutions to complex systems allowing you to do this at home. Straying away from single brand “solutions,” JRD integrates leading brands to design high performance systems. WHY US?The market is crowded with companies pushing out "kits" and wiring diagrams. How do you evaluate their credentials and purchase with confidence? By removing the middleman and going straight to the source! All systems are designed by Just Roaming Design & Nations Starter and Alternator. Our systems are supported by trained staff with installation and industry experience giving you access to relevant and specific knowledge. All overcurrent and cabling is appropriately sized. Our wiring diagrams are CAD modeled and detail oriented, making everything easily identifiable and a breeze to follow.WHAT SYSTEM IS RIGHT FOR ME?Due to a lack of detailed information surrounding increasing voltage in a mobile power system, we found that users were selecting systems based on voltage instead of by functionality. To cover the basics, there are two main reasons as to why you would size up in voltage. The first is the need to increase AC power to run appliances such as an induction cooktop at the same time as an air conditioner or to provide 240v power to accommodate EV charging and worry-free power usage. The second reason to increase voltage is to generate power faster, as stepping up in voltage usually equates to a faster regeneration rate via the 3 main charging sources in a mobile installation: solar, shore power, and of course alternator charging. 12V SYSTEM12v systems are the most familiar to the mobile market. When paired with a Nations 280XP Alternator, you get reliable idle output and up to 3500w of peak output on a wide variety of installations. Our kit pairs the Wakespeed Regulator and the Victron Energy Lynx BMS, which allows for direct CANbus communication providing an adaptive and safe system. We recommend a minimum of 600ah at 12v to make use of the charging capabilities. Smaller banks will limit the output of the alternator but will still provide load supplementation. 24V SYSTEM24v systems are a natural progression from 12v with an increase in power output up to 3800w when paired with the Nations 150XP Alternator. These systems are also easy to find overcurrent protection for out in the field and require less programming to get dialed in when compared to 48v ecosystems. The major difference from 12v is the need to step down from 24v to 12v for your main loads. This is achieved using a 70 amp Victron Energy converter. This kit comes with 2 converters allowing you to run large auxiliary loads off of the house rather than the starter (such as auxiliary lighting), increasing starter battery health and longevity. We recommend pairing higher voltage kits with a high idle kit for maximum output at idle. Some vehicles cannot fit the 150XP in which we would supplement with the 90 amp version. 48V SYSTEM48v ecosystems are solidifying their spot in the mobile space as the premium. This kit provides you with the full capability of the Nations 100 amp 48v alternator. Just like our kits before it has full monitoring of the AC and DC system as well as CANbus communication directly with the Victron Energy system and the Wakespeed Regulator. You can choose between 60 and 150 amps of on demand 12v power supply using multiple Victron Energy converters. We also worked directly with global brands to provide the safest and cleanest solutions for overcurrent protection at 48V DC which is often the hardest detail to nail. WHAT'S INCLUDED IN MY KIT? Our kits includes all major components, including overcurrent protection, and a CAD modeled wiring diagram. Below is a brief overview of the function of the main system components. 12V

ACCESSORY KITSWater Tank SensorsOur water tank sensors are imported from trust Australian brand Safiery. They connect directly to the Victron Energy Tank GX 140 and utilize pressure differentiation rather than resistance. This leads to a 2% accuracy, easy set up and no holes drilled in your tank. Simply install the tank sensors in a bung or inline in your plumbing to get an accurate readout. Temp SensorsWe offer both interior and exterior rated bluetooth Ruuvi temperature sensors. These directly connect to the Victron Energy Cerbo allowing you to control relays and display information without the need for additional wiring. Garmin Digital Switching & High Idle KitsIntermotiv & Mid City Engineering INSTALL CENTERJust Roaming DesignJRD is a national distribution and design company founded by Victron Energy Ambassador and OEM Trainer, Sam Reiser. The company is integrated with many industry leading brands such as Victron Energy, BlueSea, Ancor, Marinco, Wago, Nations Starter and Alternator and many more. They also carry many unfamiliar names for niche applications as the industry moves towards higher voltages and larger capacity systems. Their knowledge was acquired through years of running a thriving installation center and custom build shop in Portland, Oregon which caters to an extensive range of platforms including vans, Class A, B, and C RVs, trailers, Overland Rigs, and Skoolies. They also successfully cater to over 60+ builders nationwide making them one of the leading national distributors in the space regarding mobile power. |
